IRB6700 robot maintenance information

Robot maintenance is not only crucial to the performance and life of the robot, but also plays an important role in improving production efficiency, ensuring operational safety, and reducing maintenance costs. Regular maintenance is a critical step in ensuring your robot continues to operate efficiently.

When repairing and inspecting the robot control cabinet, make sure the main power supply is turned off.

Part1: Precautions when replacing lubricating oil

  1. The oil temperature may be higher than 90 degrees, replace it after cooling Wear gloves to prevent allergic reactions
  2. Open the oil drain hole carefully and slowly to prevent oil from splashing.

Part 2: Gearbox oil level check and replacement

1-axis gearbox oil level inspection and replacement

  1. Handling gearbox oil involves some safety risks. Before proceeding, please read the robot safety information
  2. Turn off all power sources connected to the robot before entering the robot working area. For the hydraulic source and air pressure source, do not cut off the air source for the Foundry Prime version.
  3. Open the oil filling plug and check
  4. The required oil level is 5mm below the edge of the oil plug hole
  5. Refuel as needed
  6. Cover the oil plug hole. Note: Tightening torque: 24NM

  2. Turn off all power sources connected to the robot before entering the robot working area. For the hydraulic source and air pressure source, do not cut off the air source for the Foundry Prime version.
  3. Use an oil collector to collect waste oil
  4. Open the filling plug to drain oil more quickly
  5. Open the oil drain plug and drain the waste oil into the oil collector. Note: The oil drain time is related to the oil temperature.
  6. Cover the oil plug hole

6-axis gearbox oil level inspection and replacement

  1. Handling gearbox oil involves some safety risks. Before proceeding, please read the robot safety information
  2. Turn off all power sources, hydraulic and pneumatic sources connected to the robot before entering the robot working area.
  3. For the Foundry Prime version, do not cut off the air source 3. Make sure the oil filler hole is facing up and open.
  4. Rotate the shaft to the 85 degree position and check that the oil is just flush with the edge of the hole at this position
  1. Add oil as needed Note: Do not mix up oil models

6.Cover the oil plug hole. Note: Tightening torque: 24NM

6-axis gearbox oil replacement (oil drain)

  1. Move the robot so that the oil drain holes and the 6-axis gearbox face downwards, and the oil filling holes face upwards. IRB6640ID: Move the robot so that all oil holes face downwards.
  2. Handling gearbox oil involves some safety risks. Before proceeding, please read the robot safety informat

Part 3. Robot cable inspection and replacement

  1. Turn off all power sources connected to the robot before entering the robot working area. For the Foundry Prime version, do not cut off the hydraulic source and air pressure source.
  2. First observe all cables with your eyes to see if they are worn or damaged. Note: If it is a robot used for casting, check the insulation performance of the cables.
  3. Check whether the base connector is intact
  4. Check that the Velcro straps are properly connected to the side bracket balance cylinder. Note: For cleaning robots, check all cable accessories as well as the Velcro straps. Make sure the correct cable harness is connected to the robot.
  5. If there are cracks, wear or damage, replace it immediately

Part 4. SMB replacement

  1. Adjust the robot to the calibration state
